Ever higher specific outputs and energy densities require ever new production and testing systems - a challenge that h-kon has successfully taken on for more than five years now. The system supplier and process developer from southern Germany is recognised as one of the leading German companies in the design and development of assembly technology. As such, h-kon has also specialised in the field of end-of-line testing technology for battery modules and packs of lithium-ion batteries and works with customers around the globe in this area.

The new tester from h-kon, which will only be presented for the first time at the Battery Show in Stuttgart, is characterised by system-integrated high-end measurement technology and industry-proven PC-based control technology with integrated safety control, which can be flexibly adapted and scaled to customer requirements. The integrated test bench software is suitable for both manual and fully automated applications. It enables the testing of cells, modules and packs of different performance classes with universal and freely configurable test sequences without the need to change the PLC.

Visitors can experience this testing technology up close at the h-kon stand. In addition to Roland Arnold, other experts from sales, process development and project planning will be available to answer questions at any time.

At “ees Europe”, h-kon will be presenting the latest developments in end-of-line test technology: The test benches cover all required test steps such as SOC status, SOC adjustment, customer-specific test steps like bond failure tests and screw head tests, CAN and SPI communication, system analysis, module and pack conditioning, measurement of outer dimensions and weights, high potting and dielectric strength. Data logs are transferred directly to the MES via an OPC UA interface. Customers can access a dynamic user interface to generate their own test sequence. 

As CEO and joint partner Roland Arnold explains, h-kon specifically prioritises the smooth integration of test technology into the production line: “The end-of-line test technology must be capable of adapting perfectly to the specific bandwidth and cycle rate of the battery production line. In addition, we deploy robots to achieve an extremely high level of test stand automation through fully automated contacting and automated module changing equipment.” 

Visitors to h-kon's booth at ees Europe can get a closer look at an example of this test technology. Roland Arnold will be joined by other experts from the sales, process development and project planning departments who will be on hand to answer questions at the booth.
